Sania Mirza's rankings: Goes down in singles, up in doubles

Sania Mirza's WTA singles position came down by three places to 37 in the latest rankings announced on Monday. This could be attributed to her poor performance in the last two tournaments that she had been participating, the Wismilak International WTA tourney and the Sunfeast Open held recently in Bali, Indonesia and Kolkata, India respectively.

However, it was a not all bad news for Sania, who saw her doubles rankings go up to 129. Sania Mirza had paired up with Virginia Pascual and had reached the semi-finals of the recently concluded Sunfeast Open where the pair lost to the eventual champions.
