Sania advances in DFS classic

Sania Mirza made a winning start in the USD200,000 DFS classic tournament being held here in Birmingham, England. Sania defeated Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine in a three-setter 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

Sania was however made to work hard after picking the first set easily.

DFS classic is seen as a warm-up preceeding the Wimbledon which will be held later this month.
