Sania Mirza crashes out of Sunfeast Open21 September, 2005
In an exciting match, India's Sania Mirza suffered a shock second round defeat at the hands of Melinda Czink of Hungary.
Sania, who won the first set without conceeding a game, saw the Hungarian come back strongly in the next two sets. Czink took the match 0-6 6-4 6-4.
In a match that saw many ups and downs, Sania Mirza was a break down in the final set. However the Indian kept her fans' hopes alive by breaking the Hungarian's serve to level the score 4-4. But not for long. Czink immediately broke back and went on to hold her serve to clinch the set 6-4, thereby securing her entry to the next round.
India's hopes were not all lost though, Florida-based Shikha, ranked 152, advanced to the next round beating Rika Fujiwara 6-2 6-3.
