Sania Mirza out of Australian Open singles

Sania Mirza crashed out of the Australian Open 2006 singles event today when she lost to unseeded Dutch teenager Michaella Krajicek in straight sets 3-6, 5-7.

The match that lasted 81 minutes saw Sania making as many as 35 unforced errors compared to Krajicek's 26.

It may be recalled that last year Sania became the first Indian to reach the third round of the Australian Open.
