Sania Mirza slips two places in world ranking

Subsequent to her unexpected first round loss in the first round of the USD585,000 JP Morgan Open, Sania Mirza's WTA ranking has slipped two places to 50.

The latest WTA rankings were released today.

Sania Mirza is expected to play in the USD75,000 Forest Hills Classic tournament, the last major event before the US Open which is scheduled to begin on 29 August, 2005.
