Sania Mirza looses in Forest Hills finals, however moves up in rankings

It was a disappointing end to Sania Mirza 's run in the Forest Hills classic tournament when she went down fighting to Lucie Safarova of the Czech republic in the finals. Safarova overcame the Indian in three sets 3-6 7-5 6-4.

Sania Mirza however saw her WTA ranking zoom up to her career-best figure of 42.

Sania Mirza is scheduled to play Mashona Washington of the USA in the US open first round.
