Sania's dream run at Acura Classic comes to an end

Sania Mirza's dream run at the Acura classic 2005 came to an abrupt halt with Japan's Akiko Morigami overpowering her 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in the third round.

In a match that was played before a packed audience, Morigami took revenge on her Wimbledon 2005 loss to Mirza. It may be noted that Akiko Morigami also defeated Sania Mirza in the Cincinnati open quarter-finals held last month. The Japanese now leads 2-1 in head to head clashes with Sania Mirza.

Earlier Sania Mirza had posted a stunning victory over No. 4 seed Nadia Petrova.
